Leadership Team

The P.S. 21 Eagle Leadership Academy allows students to engage in hands-on experiences to make an impact on the school community and beyond. The Leadership Academy students’ will participate in various community service projects and initiatives to help those in need. In addition, they will learn about the opportunities they can embark on once they graduate from P.S. 21 including learning about the different programs available at Intermediate School 51 and Port Richmond High School. They will also learn about different aspects of college, helping them learn that college is a goal in which any person can attain. We further aim to support students develop their own sense of community and begin developing a portfolio of their experiences in which they could use and build upon as they enter middle school, high school, college and beyond.

Girls Who Code

Who Code is an organization that values diversity, equity, and inclusion as essential to our mission. Historical and institutional barriers—particularly racial bias and discrimination—play a role in the widening gender gap in computer science and who has access to opportunities in these fields. Girls Who Code focuses our work not only on gender diversity but also on young women who are historically underrepresented in computer science fields.

A Girl Who Code Club is a free program for 3rd-5th students to join. A safe and supportive environment of peers and role models is provided, where students learn to see themselves as computer scientists and have a positive impact on the world around them by solving real-world problems in their community.
